year-round water conservation measures:
Insecticides,
herbicides, other pesticides, and fertilizers sometimes
need to be watered-in.
The district's
year-round water conservation measures recognized
the importance of following a manufacture's instructions
and any applicable local, state, or federal law.
Although
some lawn chemicals need to be watered in immediately,
others can wait several days. Each user should read
and follow the product label carefully.
The following year-round water conservation measures
apply to watering-in of chemicals:
o In the absence of specific instructions to the
contrary, water-in chemical with only one-quarter
inch of water, not a complete irrigation application.
This will ensure that the chemical is activated,
but not washed away.
o People applying their own chemicals should plan
the application to take advantage of normally allowable
watering days and times.
" If a lawn care or pest control professional
is applying chemicals for a property owner, the
chemicals may be watered-in during otherwise restricted
times. The professional applicator must install
a temporary sign indicating the date of application
and the date(s) of needed watering-in activity.
